DESIGN

Depadova presents one-of-a-kind and limited edition jewelry. Each piece is unique with the attributes of handmade jewelry and it has a soul and a story of its own. The designs have a sculptural and sometimes geometric quality displaying a classic look with a twist, an edge. Much like the person who wears Depadova, each piece, whether it's simple and pretty or big and bold, is a means to express creativity and individuality.

FABRICATION

The tangible beauty of Depadova's handmade jewelry is appreciated even more when old traditional techniques are valued and employed to work the raw materials. With no wax or casting involved, metals might be melted, then rolled, cut or sawed, hammered and pieces may be soldered together for the project at hand. Gems are set or bezeled carefully, and texture is then applied by hand. Jump rings might be closed, wires wrapped, and beads strung and after countless hours and lots of patience, each piece is touched up and polished to handmade perfection.

THE DESIGNER

Crafting jewelry is a natural expression of Carla Gaudio's artistic development. While trained as a painter, sculpting the figure in the round became a means to her discovery of the thrill and endless possibilities of designing and making jewelry. Her creative process is a combination of instinct, discovery and letting ideas evolve and come to fruition as the work progresses.

SOURCING

At Depadova sterling silver and gold are the preferred precious metals because they are lasting and high-quality materials. They might be sourced from reputable U.S. suppliers or recycled by melting old stock. Precious stones like rubies, sapphires, diamonds and other valuable stones and pearls are mostly selected for their durability and beauty.
